Sarah Hankins grew up in Connecticut riding and from an early age had a strong interest in animal nursing. Despite growing up in a family that did not have an interest in animals, she found herself working at every turn on her own to gain experience in the veterinary field while working through college. Her experience since 1999 has included fostering and raising neonate wildlife, cattle and quarter horse herd management, emergency, surgical, and routine nursing (bovine, equine, canine, feline) in Colorado, Equine specialty nursing (surgical, reproduction, orthopedics/sports medicine) in Las Vegas, NV, veterinary ophthalmology, lecturing on equine nursing and studying with Purdue University’s Vet Tech Program. Her family relocated here in 2012 and is very excited to have added the SEVD team to her extended veterinary family. She is married, has two girls, a husband, dogs, cats, rabbits, squirrels, horses and chickens and spends her free time volunteering with Girl Scouts.
